The Derek Bailey Foundation (Registered Charity no: 1079492) was formed in March 2000. Its objective is to relieve the need, hardship and distress and promote education and healthcare of the people of Nyofelleh and the surrounding villages in the Gambia, West Africa.

Nyofelleh is a principle village in a catchment area of villages some 60 kilometers from Banjul the capital of the Gambia, an independent country of around 1.6 million people.
